The Science Roadshow

Yesterday, Thursday the 9th of May 2019, Rooms 17 & half of Room 18 were the first classes from Rowandale to attend the annual Auckland Science Roadshow.

Within our team (team whakapono) our theme this term is 'Mad Science!' which is imbedded into our overall school theme 'Champions bring out the best in each other'.

In class we have begun participating in some science activities and working on puzzles that help us understand the forces of science, so to actually attend the science roadshow, gave us an insight on the observations of science, thank you to our hosts as seen below.

Things as simple as a ball rotation even has a science connection.  Gravity and force were key aspects of this demonstration.

There's nothing like a rocket ship in science.  We experienced what causes the rocket ship to move and our very own Kendrick (hidden behind the clear box) from Room 17 helped along with the experiment.

Our students were in awe of what they observed and how evolving science is in our world.

 (so were the adults)

Finally students were allowed to explore the Science Roadshow and their range of science experiments and investigations that were on display.

What a wonderful day of Science.  We look forward to what we can learn in Science and what the Science Roadshow will have planned for us next year.
