TERM THREE - Week 4
The Manurewa Diversity Festival of 2019

On Tuesday the 13th of August 2019, the Rowandale Choir had the privilege of once again, performing at the Diversity Festival of 2019, along with 15 other schools from the Manurewa district:
Manurewa Central
Waimahia Intermediate
Greenmeadows Intermediate
Manurewa Intermediate
Manurewa South
Everglade
Homai
Roscommon
Randwick Park
Hillpark
Manurewa East
St Annes
Manurewa West
Clendon Park

The Rowandale choir is made up of 30 students in the Year 5 & 6 level from Team Whakapono from Rooms 18, 20, 21, 23 & 24. The choir trainer is Mrs Aliifaalogo, supported by Whaea Lois.

Two painstaking terms of vigorous practices at school and Greenmeadows intermediate had finally paid off. We even had one of our very own students Essence Puha-McGrath from Rm 18, do a solo piece, the Karanga for the National Anthem.

Songs ranged from 'Isn't she lovely' by Stevie Wonder, 'Super Trooper' by Abba, 'Hakuna Matata' from the recent and ever popular movie the Lion King.

Also and oldie but a goodies 'Hats'.

It was a night full of children's voices, hard work, pride and participation. It brought unity in our community, showcasing the many talents we have here at Rowandale school.

A huge thank you to the Principal's of Manurewa for putting this together, band members, choir trainers, sound technicians, the m.c, stage manager and especially to Cathy Chambers (Principal of Greenmeadows Intermediate) and Felicity Auva'a who were again the key to a very successful Diversity Festival of 2019.
